Are you sure it's not coming up from your bathtub drain? I once saw the tub filthy a few hours after cleaning it and was about to tear my brother a new one for being so filthy and not cleaning up after himself until I realized the tub was backing up. I think a flood or pipe break issue happened...it was ages ago so I can't remember. Stuff from other apartments or maybe outside were coming into my tub, and I only learned this when I saw it happen 1 day.
