Did you have a stop sign? And did you stop? Was the other driver on the right there first? If so, then yes, you did break a law. The person on the right is supposed to go first IF they get there first. However, if you didn't have a stop sign (aka not a four-way-stop), then yes, that person was just being a jerk. This is why I recommend investing in dash cams. Had there been an accident, you could have easily proven that you weren't the one at fault.
I was on a main road at the moment when I was going past him, so I was right. There are no traffic lights. Dashcam is a good idea tho.
