Today, I resorted to trying to guilt trip my husband into getting his prostate checked. He asked for one good reason why he should, so I said because he has two kids who don’t want to see him get prostate cancer. His response, "Nope, not good enough, now leave me alone." FML

Today, my husband is so desperate to not spend time with my parents that on my dad's birthday he claimed he forgot and booked a trip to the dentist, and now for their anniversary he's pulled the same trick again and booked this year's prostate exam. FML

Today, my husband is upset that I refuse to sign off on a loan for $10k for an experimental surgery on his 11 year-old chronically ill dog. It will ultimately put more trauma on the poor creature, but he refuses to listen or let go. Not to mention the kids and mortgage. FML

The good thing is that prostate cancer is one of the very slowest cancers. And a blood PSA test by your general practitioner can help detect the cancer without some doctor sticking their finger up your ass…. I am a man and my urologist used to do the finger exam ever time I had an appointment and that’s a psychologically uncomfortable thing. But he was able surgically to correct my urination problems…
