This sucks so bad OP but honestly you did the right thing for yourself. You got yourself out of a relationship where your girlfriend was not emotionally available to you and didn’t reciprocate how you want to be loved and cared for. Grieve the relationship but remember that in the end you’re going to meet someone who will treat you the way you deserve and you’ll be so much happier.
It does not make you a control freak. It does, however, make you somewhat clingy. People don't have the same need for connection and daily communication over text with their partners. Dumping her may have been a bit extreme, but at some point it's probably better if the relationship didn't fulfill you.
Everyone has different needs and connections, I would suggest trying to bring up your needs to your future partners though. If they can't receive information like an adult and if you can't give them information like an adult it'll never work anyway.
I'm sorry to say, but this comes off a little hypocritical. You say you had a problem with your gf's communication issues, yet instead of talking to her about it, you thought it would be easier to dump her. She's not the only person here who needs to communicate better. At least attempt to have this conversation with her and explain your needs and feelings before throwing away an otherwise good relationship. She might surprise you,
