I wish OP had given a bit more details… Just occasionally we all may have a “brain fart” where we suddenly can’t think of something that’s normally easily remembered. I assume this was like that… My Dad and I shared the same first (and last) names, so growing up I went by my middle name - Which is what the rest of my family calls me. In college I decided that I wanted to be called by my first name - Which is what my wife, friends, and work colleagues call me. When I would go to my parents hometown, I have to shift names. Maybe OP was in a situation like this…
