Today, I woke up to my boyfriend throwing my birth control box at me and shouting that I was a slut for cheating on him since we never had sex. I attempted to explain the birth control was for a condition I have that causes my period to be non-existent. He didn't believe me. FML

The pill isn't like a condom, you don't just go on and off of them as you see fit. Even if you were taking it for sexual reasons it is better to keep taking it and have the proper amount in your system so it actually works when you do need it. Men and women need to educate themselves on male AND female contraceptives if they are going to be in a relationship and eventually have sex. Basic stuff here folks. If you can't do that, please don't procreate.

How is he uneducated? They teach this in schools? How is a guy supposed to know all this crap about the pill and not having periods... Only thing guys know is that the pill stops babies from being born. Can't really blame him but he'll probably listen to you if you explain it to him or tell him to read the label on the bottle :P

Yeah, I completely understand. I have a condition involving my period that I have to take birth control for. He completely overreacted.

Sigh. Why are there SO many ignorant people out there? (Picard/Riker double-face-palm)

I didn't get my period until I was 18 and that was after taking birth control pills.

Op, I have polycystic ovarian disorder. That means that I don't get mine either, and it causes very irregular cycles and irregularity with hormones, and is extremely painful. I can honestly say I understand, and I'm so sorry! Nobody deserves that, OP.

i have that too. pcos? i also take birth control, because i was told if i ever wanted kids that taking it now might help me conceive in the future, stupid huh?

Honestly I wouldn't believe you either. It just sounds weird that your taking something that prevents you from getting pregnant to get your period to, what I'm assuming, get pregnant?
