Vindictive

Today, I was pulled over by the police. The cop was my ex-boyfriend. He had no legitimate reason to pull me over, so he thoroughly checked my car. He gave me a defect notice and a fine. What for? A broken door lock, on my rear passenger door. FML

Isn't that unlawful harassment? If you can prove you had a relationship and he's bitter, you should sue him and the city! Cha-ching!!! $$$

take it to the judge its a conflict of interestes most likely and besides i dont think he can give you a ticket for a broken lock

A police officer has no right to search your car unless there are hints that there might have something illegal in it other wise they are taking advantage of your rights! You must have really screwed him over.

If you were in America that would have been illegal, because he searched your car without cause.

he cant do that. fight the ticket and explain it to the judge. if he had no reason to pull you over then he had no probable cause to then give you a citation. you dont have to pay it.

The fourth amendment makes that illegal. The mere fact that that's what you got a ticket for proves he didn't have a reason to search.
