Vindictive

Today, I was pulled over by the police. The cop was my ex-boyfriend. He had no legitimate reason to pull me over, so he thoroughly checked my car. He gave me a defect notice and a fine. What for? A broken door lock, on my rear passenger door. FML

Isn't that unlawful harassment? If you can prove you had a relationship and he's bitter, you should sue him and the city! Cha-ching!!! $$$

carmas a bitch aint it maybe u shouldnt been such a dick to him lololol powend

FYL OP. Our ******* cops abuse their power a lot don't they?

He needs to pull you over for a violation and if you did not give him permission to search you car he's not allowed. He can only search your area in reach. For a weapon if you give him probable cause. It's an illegal search.

However without permission if he has reason to believe something is in the car he can apply for a warrant and hold her there until said warrant gets approved

That's easily fightbale in court. File a complaint. I've never heard of a cop giving somebody a ticket for a broken door lock on a car before. The judge will throw that out.

Complain to his department head. Make it a formal complaint in writing. If you don't do this he will continue to abuse the authority and power his position puts him in. Also, this creates a history that is considered the next time he does something like this to someone. Also, it may hold up promotions or awards.

Sorry, but he was right to fine you. It's there job to make sure the car works and doesn't compromise safety. Now I know its unlikely, but he could of just saved your life from some other ex that may try to kill you while your driving..... Just saying

Jeez..from the stories on here you can just tell ex-boyfriends and girlfriends are jerks.

i dont know how it works over there, but here in the States you can take him to court for 1: no probable cause, 2: a bullshit fine, and 3: conflict of interest. and reasonable judge would throw that ticket out and reprimand him for picking on an ex gf. if you can take him to court to dispute the ticket, do it. doesn't matter how the relationship ended, he has no right to pick on you like that.
