Today, my girlfriend tearfully complained that I was smothering her to death with my clinginess, and that I should learn to respect her boundaries. This is after she complained I wasn't giving her enough attention. FML

Today, my girlfriend of over a year broke up with me. Two weeks ago she complained that I didn't act like I really loved her. I then became more involved and caring just for her to show my love. The reason she broke up with me? Because I was "suffocating her with clinginess." FML

For the people saying "can we say bipolar?", do you even know what bipolar is? It is a lot more than going from happy to sad with a snap of ones fingers or having the inability to make up ones mind. I suggest you go to school and earn a degree in psychcology before you start diagnosing anyone of any mental disorder or illness. And maybe, if you are smart enough and care enough, you will learn that it is not okay to make fun or make light of mental disorders. Too many people do not seek help because of the negative stigma attatched to mental disorders. Now, to matter of OP's girlfriend. It is possible she didn't know what to do with his attention once she got it or realized she liked things the way they were, more. She is not crazy. We all do it at least once. Realizing it isn't what you expected or ever really wanted after you get whatever it is you wanted.
