Today, I wanted to ask out a cute new co-worker. She seemed shy so instead of asking her outright I left a sticky note in her cubicle. Not only did she act as if she hadn't noticed it all day, but when it was time to go home she was picked up by another woman. They kissed. FML.

I'm pretty sure that dating coworkers has been discourage for... well, a long time. Plus if she just started there, that's kind of rude to make her feel like she might make an enemy if she says no, and she's also allowed to not be interested in men or in you specifically. But, hey, the most it could have cost you is your job! You apparently aren't super attached to it anyway.

But, hey, the most it could have cost you is your job! You apparently aren't super attached to it anyway.
