Content almost refused by staff

Today, Christmas 2017, my wife and I received a Sears gift card from my grandparents. We received the same thing last year and the Sears in our town closed last year. They said it should be fine because you can use them at Kmart. Now the Kmart in our town is also closing. FML

#1 apparently OP lives in the future because Christmas 2017 is still quite far away. Guess that means Sears doesn't fare so well this year.

So go use the gift card before the store closes. There is probably a really good clearance sale going on due to its imminent closure. Your gift card will go even further.
