I'm thinking this isn't enough information since "hurt" is in quotations. It could be these people are hurt because OP said they favor a different flavor of ice cream that they deem the best. Or maybe OP laughed at their favorite t.v. show, band, or something. It doesn't automatically mean OP is a bully. But if you are s real bully, OP, then YDI.

Sometimes the bullies are clueless to their own actions. I know a girl who had bullied me and my classmates for years, all while posting anti-bullying messages on social media.

It's amazing how a person's perception of themselves can be so off. I know a girl who has no interest in conversation unless it's gossip (often the mean, hurtful kind) and yet she's constantly on Facebook preaching the evils of gossip. I don't think she even realizes she does it. Humans are such a weird species.
