I've had an almost similar situation twice. I'm a secretive dude and I've always told my folks they'd never meet any of my girlfriends until I'm engaged (but I do have relationship issues - parent's divorce will do that to a hedonistic young man) or gonna be a dad. Understandable they both got curious and on two separate occassions both my parents asked me if I was gay. I bust out into 10minute bouts of laughter each time. I'm unashamedly hetro, and my sexuality being questioned just seemed absurd to me - but that's just me. However, your 'friend' simply has a 'divine' sense of comedic timing!!
