Today, it was my birthday. We had a huge family dinner and everyone was invited, including my boyfriend. My family is kind of stuck-up, so I was very nervous about him meeting them. He got into an argument with my uncle over how "awesome" Van Halen is, and ignored me all night. FML

Today, it was my birthday dinner with my family. Everyone was making an effort to avoid a certain topic. Later my 5 year old cousin gives me a nice hand drawn card of me and my boyfriend. Apparently no one had the heart to tell her my boyfriend had broken up with me on my birthday. FML

Today, it was my birthday. My family usually gives me a financial gift, but didn't this time and said nothing about it. I cooked my own birthday dinner without help, then washed everyone's dishes. I got my own cake and ate it alone because they were too busy getting drunk. Nobody bothered to sing Happy Birthday either. FML

Today, it was my 18th birthday and I was told I couldn't get the night off work because a party of 34 had booked into the restaurant. It turned out my family had come in to 'celebrate' by making me wait on them. They were a nightmare, thought it was hilarious to be difficult, and didn't tip. FML

Here's a thought and it's a bit deep so think it over. If everyone was invited then it is given that your boyfriend was invited. In fact, it is given that I was invited but, no matter, I would not have attended. Since everyone was invited, I decided to trek across the barren country on my own with no worries about being hassled by anyone else, since they were all at your birthday party...

The truth in this is epic. My boyfriend completely ignores me when his friends are over. He's always told me the same thing ,'make yourself known'. It's true. You get so focused on one thing everything else gets tooned out!

What kind of guy ignores you over an argument he had with your UNCLE, especially on your b-day? You might want to check his birth certificate to make sure he's not 10 years old.
