Texas has at will employment laws. What wrongful termination?
There are still some parameters regarding termination, even in At Will states, but they vary, of course.
At will doesn’t mean they can just fire you at any time. I live in an at will state and was fired because a co-worker was promoted to be my boss and he didn’t like me, thus a week in, I was terminated. I ended up with 12 months pay, plus the 6% 401k contributions they would have made if I had been working that 12 months, and lawyer fees. Basically not liking me cost the company way more than they liked as he was fired shortly after they settled. So at will still needs solid justification along with solid paper trail
In an “at will” employment state you can be let go for any or no reason. There is no legal case - OP just has to pick up the pieces and go on.
