Just a thought, but if it's leaning against the roof, and ur choppin it down. ISNT IT GONNA FALL ON THE ROOF ANYWAYS?
No, it's a common practice to cut trees in trouble spots. You cut it down piece by piece so that 1 big chunk never falls that can cause great damage. This also relieves weight from a tree greatly reducing the weight put on the broken branch.
Shouldn't your insurance pay for most of the damage and you can return the chainsaw because you didn't open it.
