Yeah, I don't get why either. Was it your real birthday or did it mean something else?

They should call it "baby chaser" instead of the morning after pill.

That happened to me too, not happy birthday, but "have a nice day!"

the lady was saying if the OP's mother used the morning after pill she wouldnt have a b-day

Uhm, she has a right to be mad that you're killing the thing? You deserved that shame, my friend.

Here's a quick education: It takes something like 2 days for the sperm to even reach the egg and even if it does it has to burrow in still. Thus, if it's the morning after... what does that conclude? It's not killing anything cos there's nothing to kill. Except sperm. Even so, an embryo doesn't even become a fetus (baby) until after 12 weeks. It's just a bunch of cells. So it's not even a baby. And even so the body can miscarry an embryo any time before those 12 weeks, and sometimes even after... so does that mean you're a murderer if you miscarry???

Why thank you lol =) it got me a bit irate.

'Uhm, she has a right to be mad that you're killing the thing? You deserved that shame, my friend.' wow. First and foremost, the morning after pill is not a termination of a pregnancy but and emergency contraceptive - it prevents implantation. Just because it is not something you would do does not mean that women should not be entitled to it. Secondly, no one should be shamed for buying the morning after pill, i think it is much more respectable to be proactive and avoid a pregnancy than to be irresponsible and leave yourself with very few other options.

#21 She's not killing anything. The morning after pill does not terminate a pregnancy, it stops the pregnancy from happening like the Pill.

thanks #22 i was hoping someone would point that out. and this isnt really an FML. so what if someone says "happy birthday?" if you get disowned by your parents for actually getting an abortion, that would be an FML.

by "happy birthday", she was commenting on the "killing" her unborn baby by taking the morning after pill.

ATTENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys are all making yourselves look incompetent. The morning-after pill just prevents conception, like a super-concentrated birth control pill. It does not "kill" anything, not even one cell. I know a couple other people already pointed that out, but I'm just reiterating the fact. DO WORK, SON. on another note, the "happy birthday" might have had nothing to do with the pill. I know a lot of people who say "happy birthday" whenever they give anything to anyone. just saying.
