The issue here is what did the boy's father do to correct this situation? If the OP tries to discipline him, he'll only see it as her being an evil step-mom, and may even pull the old "You're not my mother!" card. The father has to step in, punish him, and make him understand that what he did was disrespectful. If nothing else, OP, make sure your husband gives you the authority to punish his son if he ever does something like this again. The boy may not like you, but you have to make sure he damn well respects you.
