Today, it marks the fourth month since my 15-year-old cousin asked me out, then started practically stalking me when I said no. It's also the fourth month of my parents and his constantly telling me to stop overreacting and that it's "just a phase." FML

Today, I brought my new boyfriend to dinner with my family. Everything was going smoothly until my dad asked him how long we’d been dating. My boyfriend looked at me, then said, "Uh, I think it's been… four months?" I looked horrified and said, "It's been TWO!" Now I’m wondering if we’re dating or just two confused people stuck in a situationship. FML

I don't understand why parents just brush off weird behaviors like that rather than just addressing them.

Your parents should be taking this seriously, that's some seriously disturbing behaviour.

to be fair it probably is a phase, albeit an inappropriate and extremely creepy one that both sets of parents should address rather than ignore.

Hes your cousin who cares call him meet somewhere and sleep with him

Yup, you just set yourself up for a bunch of hillbilly jokes by revealing you're from Alabama. But in all seriousness, even if this is a "phase", it's creepy as **** and neither set of parents should be ignoring it. Sit your family down and have a long talk about this.

Self defense... Pepper spray and a running **** slap should do the trick, if not kick past the knee caps and aim for the balls. But only as a last resort.

I think that would do the trick! Ha or at least a good hard punch in the neck.

My jaw dropped when I read that OP was from Alabama...seeing as how everyone else already assumes that people here are all incest....which is definitely NOT true lol. Sorry FYL OP.

Incest is Dwelling slowly up in to his mind

Are your parents idiots? No offense. They should look into that cuz it could get really serious.

How can your parents tell you "it's just a phase"? That is just so uncomfortably unforgiving.

That sucks. And it reminds me of the time my boyfriend left me for his sister. Yes, they were biologically related an no it was not a phase.
