Today, I got a perm in an attempt to prove to my family that I'd been doing well with my life since I last saw them almost a year ago. I ended up going over for dinner looking like Bozo the Clown thanks to my idiot stylist, and my brothers wouldn't stop mocking me about it. FML

Why is everyone knocking perms so bad? I know plenty of people that have them. They look fine and not like they just stepped out of the 80's. How many of you curl your hair? Based on your pics, a few. It's THE SAME THING. Except it lasts (usually) until your hair grows out. Nothing old lady or 80's about it. It would take a lot of teasing and mousse and hairspray to get from a normal perm to an 80's hairstyle. Especially if you have long hair. Can't look like an old lady with long hair and a perm either.
