Use proper nomenclature. A lower back tattoo is called a tramp stamp. Having said that, YDI for getting tattoos, which are the ultimate stupid thing one can do with his own body. Furthermore, YDI for getting a tattoo involving letters, which is even more ghetto and slutty. *****.

okay, well some people like tattoos. and you know a lot of people get tattoos because they have a meaning. and it's not ghetto or trampy to get a tattoo involving letters. don't judge what people do to themselves because you wouldn't do it to yourself. thanks.

One of my tattoos has letters. I got it in memorial of my late father. Does this make me "ghetto and slutty"?

What an ignorant generalization about tattoos... Ultimate stupid thing to do to your body? Get pregnant.

lol reminds me of my friend. he got something tattoed in Japanese but mixed up the letters. now it's backwards for peace as well as a character he doesn't know. FYL!!

Is that you Hayden Panettiere?

LMAO! I immediately thought of that skanky little bitch when I read this one. How funny was that shit?

Ydi, tramp stamp, not double checking and if you got it in the wrong place you can't get an epidural when you get pregnant cause you're a tramp.

That is just an old wives tale. Having a tattoo does not in any way affect whether or not it is safe to get an epidural.

Next time you decide to respond to something, get your facts straight. You can still get an epidural even if you have a lower back tattoo (I detest the term "tramp stamp"). And, contrary to popular belief, not all people who get lower back tattoos are tramps.

You CAN still get an epidural. I actually asked the nurses that when I had my son (after the epidural kicked in and I stopped screaming bloody murder at everything that could move) if that affected it and they said no.

Perchance you are defending it so vehemently because you yourself have a *ahem* TRAMP STAMP?! Honey, it's a tramp stamp. Learn it, Live it, Love it. @dora

Dahlia_F, what do you call lower back tats on men then? Are they still tramp stamps?

Jess_Love 0

@ #50: yes. they're tramp stamps no matter if it's a male or female who has them.

I think season 4 (it is 4, right?) of How I Met Your Mother covers that quite nicely.

What does it say? COME HERE..? (if you're Australlian, don't bother telling me how funny this isn't... the irony in that is just hilarious to me)

Heh well I laughed anyway. Oh, and you fail at spelling Australian! D:

Yet ANOTHER FML w/ NEI; Not Enuff Info. Did YOU misspell it and the tatter copied what you gave him exactly or did HE misspell it?!? Makes a WORLD of difference on how I vote.

I'm just guessing here, but the way she phrased her sentence sounds to me like she had the tattoo for a while before she realized the mistake. So perhaps she got something in a language she's not familiar with. If it was in English, you'd think she or her friends/family would notice any mistakes straight away. This is why people should stop getting tattoos in foreign languages just because they seem more "exotic" and "meaningful." Unless it is a very well-known phrase (such as "Amor vincit omnia," or "C'est la vie," etc.) with a well-known meaning and it therefore has some context in your culture, a foreign-language tattoo is the exact opposite of meaningful - if you can't even tell whether it's spelled incorrectly, HOW can it possibly have any meaning to you? Not to mention that these types of tattoos can only be considered cool *outside* of the culture you are supposedly taking part in. How ironic, right? Disclaimer: I have nothing against tattoos in general, and in fact have a fairly sizable one myself. Tattoos are not all created equal, that's for sure.

This is why it's not a good idea to have words on tattoos anymore. Even if you have it spelled correctly on paper, there's a very high chance that the person tattooing it onto you will not double check and just put it on the way their brain thinks it's suppose to be spelled.

this is why you look closely at the tattoo in the mirror before they tattoo you. since they put the stencil on you first.

Doesn't always help, especially with a mirror. I've seen idiots that had their tattoos put on backwards because it was the right way in the mirror and they didn't think about it.

If I ever get a tattoo, it's gonna be a rorshak inkblot. Then I can get an insight into the mentality of people I meet when they tell me what they think it is.

haha at #65. if you do that, send me a picture! lol. that would be awesome. i hope i see an fml someday that goes like "today i got drunk. i went to a tattoo place and got a tattoo of an ink blot. FML" lol.

This thread is useless without pics. Good news: they have a pill that can let you live to 100. Bad news: you've got a stupid ass tattoo.
