and you couldn't have splurged on an automatic corkscrew opener?
Suck it up!
You need some of those grippy gloves.
Why Would you pay 400 bucks for wine ?
I hate it when you have trouble trying to get your cork out.
If you could afford a 400$ bottle of wine, you could afford another.
Eshh ok so everyone has an opinion on why you would spend so much on a bottle of wine... Well if you want a winemakers point of view, wine is as much about the story as the taste, it's art, granted $400 is a lot of money to spend on a wine to drink, yet iv had wines in the hundreds of dollars that are priced as such and still are not making a profit. People buy the romance and the story and history of a wine, it's a passion, not just a drink. Just saying.
Happy holidays, folks. Please lay off the price tag on the wine - everybody has their indulgences (within their individual budget) and it's the holiday season. HOWEVER, OP: If you can afford to serve a $400 bottle of wine, then can't you afford to hire someone to open/serve it for you?

Well thats one way to get it open.
Why would anyone need to buy a $400 bottle of wine? Being a cheap ass myself I found a delicious tasting one for about $4. And sure, I get paying as much as $80 for wine... but 400? That's just a waste of money. Remember, a higher price doesn't always means better taste.
