Today, my friend and I taught a very involved healthy nutrition program to underprivileged youths at a local center. We even made them a healthy snack at the end of the program. Within minutes of the program being over, we caught some of our fellow volunteers feeding the kids Oreos. FML

give a man a fish, he will eat for a day. Give a man a packet of Oreos, he will eat for a day, die of heart disease, and there will be plenty of fish for someone else

Did they teach them the correct method? - twist, lick, dunk?

Exactly. I live in a not so great area surrounded by scary trailer parks (not nice ones, scary ones that the cops are always at) and trying to eat healthy is way expensive. We've had to cut spending in other areas just so we could afford to eat healthier and we still struggle. And I don't care what anybody says, veggies are nasty without cheese or butter. The healthiest veggies I can stomach are mushrooms cooked with garlic, butter, and lemon juice. Everything else makes me gag unless there's cheese to mask the taste.

No, pounds of cheese and butter are nasty. I don't understand how people could eat like that. I start feeling sick from eating just a little too much sodium. It's so obviously bad for you, it's suicide by apathy.

Haha I am eating a oreo at this very moment!

So let me get this straight. Your life is ****** because someone gave underprivileged children Oreos? They're children, they're not interested in a "very involved healthy nutrition program". If they're underprivileged, they're not buying the food they eat, their parents are. You chose the wrong demographic.

No they are just pissed off their hard work was un-done by their co-volunteer.

If you let volunteers help you with a project, you take the time to carefully explain it to them, and make sure they're both willing and capable of following your plan.

Aparently my family and I are odd. We were on welfare when I was really little and my mom STILL fed my brother and I tons of fresh veggies, whole grains etc. Now as an adult, I prefer veggies to junk food... No you don't need butter

I was on food stamps. My mother couldn't afford rent, but I was lucky because we lived with my grandma. I ate a lot of junk food growing up, but now that I'm an adult, most junk food disgusts me.
