Today, it's my sixteenth birthday. I was hoping to get a car. Instead, my parents got me a three month membership at the gym so I can lose weight. FML

Well I don't have a car, OR membership to a gym, and I'm eighteen. I'd be happy with either.

You shouldnt have expected them to give you a car. Youd be pretty lucky if you got a car and its not as if your parents are obliged to give their 16 year old a car. Take the gym membership. Be grateful

what the hell makes you think a car is something you get a kid for their birthday. can you pay for gas? road tax? INSURANCE? no. because you are 16. get real. the ******* level of entitlement.

Just because you're turning 16 doesn't mean you automatically get a car. That's one of the stupidest stigmas around. I don't think a 16-year-old should even be driving, especially these days. They're not mature enough to handle a car, and they're always on their damn phones. Like 85% of all bad drivers I see are teens on their phones.
