Today, I was fired from my job for breaking my company's tattoo policy. I have a small scar on my wrist that roughly resembles a heart. My boss insists that it's one of those white ink tattoos. No one will believe me. FML
Get the police involved, they'll probably have a professional check it out, you'll be proved right, and they'll look like morons. Stick it to the man OP.
Not sure about other states, but Minnesota is an at-will employment. Meaning employers can fire you if they Dobby like your hair style that day. Or in my case, your boyfriend (now husband) has a crazy ex with a crazy best friend who wants you fired.
Sue or lodge an official complaint.
But as stated earlier make sure you're not in an at-will state (basically states they don't need a reason to fire you).
This reminds me of my sister who has a tattoo of stitches (even though she claims they are little crosses) on her wrist. She had no issue finding work... As a social worker of all things.
I think I would be filing a complaint with the corporate office.
This must be a case of unfair dismissal. I can't see your location but in the UK you could probably get the police involved.
