Acquired taste

Today, my daughter said she wanted to be vegetarian like me. Beaming with pride, I made her plant-based burgers for dinner. She took one bite, screamed, "EW!" and started crying and begging for beef burgers. FML

Children generally need to be exposed to novel foods at least three times before they will accept them. Perhaps start with a bite or two from your food, rather than expecting to convert her to a whole new diet at one go.

Honestly, I don’t understand why people want to make plant-based meat-like products. Just eat the veggies the way they are! Stop making them look like meat.

Right! I was just going to say that! They hate meat, but still do that? sheesh.

Or, don't try to force something on people and let them make their own decisions.

Try the old Mexican Spice trick. Bring her a plant-based whatever, watch her go "EW", than take the plant-based whatever back and bring her the meat version of the same thing. No comment, no nagging, just switch. Soon she'll eat chili sin carne with the best of them.
