Today, while I was waitressing, two girls ran up a tab of $60 in drinks. They ended up not paying the bill and walking out. My boss told me it won't be the first time or last, as he made me pay their bill. FML

Regarding the drink costs discussion - in some of the Manhattan bars/clubs I went to mixed drinks were, I kid you not, between $18 and $24 a pop and beers were about $12. Obviously though that's NYC so it isn't going to be representative of the nation as a whole.

this is illegal. sue them, particularly if IRS a corporate restaurant. this could be a payday, If your boss does this. he's gonna do worse later.

In almost every restaurant business if a person(s) leaves without paying then the waitress has to pay. this is nothing new. learn how to watch your tables

he legally cant do that... he cant dock your pay because a customer didnt pay, he has tp take it as a loss...
