OP here- It's a long distance relationship, he told me over Skype. I can confirm that he HAS had a (long) shower now.

At least you know now that those Febreeze commercials weren't lying! But seriously though, considering he confessed to you about that, my guess is he will start taking showers again. Hopefully.
