And this is why you wear slip on shoes, flip flops, or sandals to the airport as well as clothes that don't require belts.....Also, please leave your jewelry and/or shitload of change at home or in your suitcase, the other people who have more experience with airports don't want to be stuck waiting behind you. When people say "don't buy a big skirt then", what if OP bought that skirt without trying? Then went home and realized it was too big? Most people don't even go back to get a smaller size, for BELTS are made. Besides, it would look suspicious if she held it up awkwardly while going through the scan. Being stopped for having "weapons" is also embarrassing, you know.
