Today, I met some of my boyfriend's family for the first time. His aunt said I was really cute, which made me happy. As we were leaving I said "Your aunt thought I was cute." His reply..."Yeah, well, my aunt's on drugs". FML

Today, it was Thanksgiving and the first time my boyfriend would be meeting my whole family. He was nervous so he started drinking. By the end of the night, he was belligerently drunk and kissed my aunt twice thinking it was me. FML

I don't think she was fishing for compliments. I think she was just making a happy remark. Kind of like.... If I were to say "Heh, that kid thinks I'm smart." I'm not looking for someone to validate the claim, I'm just thinking out loud to another person. If she were fishing for compliments she would have said instead something like "Am I cute? Your aunt thinks so."
