Well, now that you know that they enjoy getting you mad, do your best to ignore their remarks and/or respond with your own eg, "Is that all you got?" Good luck, OP!

Well, you DID show them that you would react the way they wanted you to react. Want to spoil their fun? Don't react at all. They want to see any kind of reaction. Don't give them the satisfaction.

Today, I had lunch with my ex. A lady sat down behind her facing me. No eyeballs, no eyelids, just deep flesh tunnels into her head. I was traumatised and stopped eating and talking. I couldn’t say anything, as I imagined no eyes means better hearing. My ex said I was being rude and hasn’t talked to me since. FML
