Well, that's one way to dump someone. Though YDI if you didn't tell him to shove it and walk away. But that was a bastard move to make. However, you might have had an inkling somewhere that he was a bit of a ******** somewhere during the relationship? I mean, I know some people can hide it really well, but there might have been hints.
