how the **** can you be allergic to gin and not vodka. aren't they basically the same ingredients and different processes?
Gin tends to have herbs added to it, mostly juniper berries, during the distilling process. Vodka doesn't have the juniper berries added. Which means the customer either has a gluten intolerance and thinks vodka is free of it because it's clear, or is allergic to juniper berries. Ironically, juniper berries aren't actually a berry, they're considered a cone and are related to the pine tree family.
