Today, I arrived at work at 8, and business was abnormally slow, but we assumed it would pick up. Few hours later, we had not had a single customer. As I walk out of the restaurant, I realize the open sign has been off all day. FML

Today, while working at my job at a lumber/hardware store, my coworker told me he was taking an hour break instead of the usual half-hour. Not only did he leave me with a store packed with customers on Customer Appreciation Day, but he never came back until closing time. FML

Company time

Today, I came in to work early at a restaurant to help out. I stocked, baked pies for the next day, cleaned and set over 50 tables, and vacuumed the entire two stories. When I went to send an order for the first customer of mine, I realized I hadn't even clocked on. Four and half hours of work wasted. FML

Today, my boss told me I could do my university work as long as I served customers when they came in. No customers came in all day, then I realised I’d been so focused on my laptop, I'd never noticed I’d left the bolt on the door, so customers couldn’t get in. My boss sacked me. FML

Workers unite!

Today, the train to work was both late and almost empty. The city deserted with barely a soul in sight. It wasn’t until arriving at the office that I realised everything is closed due to a Public Holiday. I’m new to this state and not one colleague or acquaintance mentioned it. FML

Overtime

Today, I showed up to work at 6am, only to find out the schedule was changed. I wasn't actually supposed to be there until 9:15. My boss never told me this. I didn't get to go home either, he just said, "Oh well. Get to work." FML

Not a single customer?? I bet your restaurant sucks. Usually people will try their luck even if the "open" sign is not on during normal business hour.. And don't you have regular customers??

Well at least you weren't that store who leaves their 'open' sign after closing. Thats more irritating for the customer, well for me at least :)

This is not a FML your life wont end if you lose one day of business and people would still go in if they saw people inside face the fact that if this is so bad for you your an EPIC FAIL. Oh and congrats to the first person for not posting that they are first.
