So long, grandpa

By fcnk - 18/06/2009 02:40 - United States

Today, I took home my grandpa's ashes. I then went out with my grandma, leaving my 5-year-old at home with my 12-year-old. When I got home, my beaming 5-year-old opened the door, covered in white powder. My grandmother asked where all the powder had come from. She pointed to the empty ashbox. FML

Common sense should have been used here: Keep out of reach of children.

That is so awful. Why the hell did you leave something that important where your five-year-old could get at it?? Why was she not informed that this was an absolutely hands-off item? Why was she beaming? There is so much wrong with this. Your poor, poor grandmother. :(

shouldn't the OP raise his kids right in the first place?

who in the hell play's with another person's ashes? your'e a creepy necropheliac.

#179, your grammar is atrocious, and your understanding of what "necrophilia" entails is sorely lacking.

You're 26 and you don't know what a necropohiliac is?

How about getting an actual babysitter? OP, YDI.

I agree. OP, you had major parenting fail. who leaves a 12 year old with a 5 year old? please don't reproduce anymore. YDI big time.

You forget that 5-year-olds can be pretty damn determined if they want to get at something. I know I sure as hell was at that age. And who locks up the remains of one of their dead relatives? I doubt the OP expected her daughter to cover herself in the ashes of her dead grandfather.

Not gonna lie, I laughed as well.

i'm honestly very sorry for your loss, but you shouldn't have left your kids home alone with something that important within the reach of a five year old. sorry, hope you feel better
