some phones have apps where it automatically pulls your info.from Facebook. perhaps that was the case?
Your phone number must be associated with your Facebook account. Most likely his phone is connected to Facebook too and it saves him the trouble of having to enter your name with the phone number
His phone's probably just synced to Facebook. If you're not Facebook friends with him, then...run...
