Today, at my school, the student council is trying to raise $5000 for Haiti. They are doing so by playing the song from High School Musical in the hallways and cafeteria everyday until they get the money. FML

Today, I'm participating in a 30 hour awareness-raising event on famine in Africa. I'm supposed to hand out leaflets to people from my booth. My school decided to hand out a literal crate-load of free cupcakes right in front of us. FML

Today, I played in a high school concert. Some alumni of the band were sitting in the audience and were brought to tears. Not because it was beautiful, but because they were sad to see how much the music program had declined since they left. FML

Today, it was the début of the high school musical I was in. When two others and I sang the word "Hell", my mother yelled at us for using that language, while the musical was still going, and dragged me off stage. FML

Stealing the scene

Today, during a moment of silence in front of the entire high school during my band concert, I managed to hit the stand with my flute, and loudly scrambled to catch it before it fell over. I've never had so many people look at me. FML

Today, I was elected "class mom", even though I didn’t want to do it. I was also handed several envelopes in the hectic school hallway, containing parental cash contributions for the year. I lost several of the envelopes while rushing to my car, and now have to contribute €100 instead of €25. FML

Sounds kind of fun to me. If you know a lot of people don't like the song, why not set up a stand selling earplugs and send those profits to Haiti as well?

Wow, I could only read the first 10 or so comments, you people make me sick! We all share a planet and should all come together in time of need, many people are against war etc. so I find your arguments stupid and completely unrelated to what is essentially a natural disaster!!! The world would (and does) help and assist America in time of need. Go ******* speak to the Australian and English troops!!! Keep up the good work, all the people out there with their hearts and brains intact! OP- Your student council are funny and let’s face it, it's only $5000. (I am making an assumption that you go to a large school, so apologies in advance if you have like 100 people there, coz that would suck!) If you could change it to a better song when you reached certain targets that would be cool!!

We are doing "stop the bop" at my high school. I'd rather hear high school musical than its a small world after all..thats whats been playing for the past 2 weeks. we are raising $6000..we have about $400
