Don't worry about what she thinks. A loving parent is usually harsh to the person dating their child. They want to see the bad side of you, and how you handle insults. It shows them how you would react to their child when they're not around.
No worries. That's just how good mothers are. I mean, if its okay for fathers to threaten boyfriends of their daughters, then surely this is okay, too.

this makes me feel so thankful for my mother in law. I don't know if she's ever had anything negative to say or think about me but at least to my face she has always been very sweet and accepting of me from the very beginning.
