Well, if the CEO was informed beforehand to save their pictures on a network share or cloud storage, then it's pretty much their fault.
It's the CEO's fault regardless. The more important the data, the more backup copies you make of it and had he uploaded them to the internet, he could even then access them from any computer anywhere. You never know when the contents of a computer hard-drive might become corrupted/ inaccessible. That's even *more* important to do with cell phones, which are much more easily damaged/ lost. Not even saving files to its removable SD memory card is enough.
