Today, my husband refused to let our 7-week-old daughter have a pacifier, because he doesn't want her growing up to be a "whore." FML

We have those orthodontic ones that help with oral development. They also resemble the nipple during breast feeding.

Goodness gracious. Well according to your husband most of us are ****** then.

I'm a dentist, and my 2year old has been using a pacifier since she was three days old. She will have to see an orthodontist when she is older, need appliance therapy and braces. I also know it's going to be a bitch to get her off the thing. That being said, the pacifier calms her and soothes her at this point in her development and that is what is important to me. Additionally, I used one until I was three, and I'm not a *****. Good luck in this battle. It will not be easy.
