Today, I was the only employee at a video store where I work when it got robbed. After crying, shaking and spending two hours and dealing with the police, my boss called and told me it was good experience and I would know what to do next time, then made me finish my shift, the night shift, alone. Lol, your boss is an ass and I'd quit. FYL

Don't worry. Video stores will soon become extinct. You'll be out of a job in no time.

Coming in the next day and working your next shift.

HP_22 sucks that we aren't friends and that i dont live in the US. I would have gladly spent the whole night with you until you finished your shift, and maybe buy some ice cream for you :) Im saying this because after the robbery, you would have been really scared to work there again and specially at night. I hope you feel better and have an awesome day :)

That's ******* wrong... If I was the manager I would have either stayed with them, sent them home or closed the shop for the night and told head office the situation in the morning....

Allow me to present the correct response the OP should have used when told to 'finish the shift'.. "No ******* way! I'm real shook up and I'm going home. PERIOD! You'd better get over here ASAP because I'm not sure I'm even capable of locking the place up when I leave. And I'm leaving NOW." click So many 'kids' these days have no respect for authority. Here's one that does and is taken advantage of for it.

OMFG Your boss totally SUCKS! You should quite and sue him!

Not an easy thing to do. Congratulate yourself for finishing your shift. You did it!!!

hit him with a lawsuit. he deserves it.

Getting his pharmacy robbed by armed robbers caused a relative of mine to spiral into severe depression and psychosis. Those of you saying get over it obviously have no idea how traumatic something like this can be.

you realize thats against the law, if you are working at a store and you get robbed at gunpoint you are entitled to up to two days off after the incedent.
