Today, I tried to politely explain to my mother that I'm allergic to her laundry soap. She just called me crazy. I have been scratching for three days straight and my skin is almost all red. She refuses to buy anything else. FML

I really can't buy my own detergent, I can't drive yet. I would walk to the store and buy it there, but all of the roads have no sidewalks and the cars don't stop. I do my own laundry, but have to use the soap, and when it gets on my hands it's like instant rash.

Throw away her laundry soap and replace a new one that suits your skin.

Thank u some one with good advice here

stop posting on line. walk your lazy ass down to the store, buy some detergent, and do your own laundry you lazy b****

Not everyone can just "walk down to the store". Where I live the nearest drugstore is a twenty-minute walk from my house, which wouldn't be a problem except there are no sidewalks 90% of the way, and a lot of cars going 40+ MPH.

I know I'm a year late to this party but god damn not every place has a store that sells laundry detergent. If I want to buy laundry detergent I would have to walk ~10 miles to another city following a well used highway or walking through farm fields, a forest, and maybe a couple of rivers just to buy detergent.

Why would you keep on wearing the clothing, when you were having reaction to it. Surely, you'd rewash everything and just do it yourself in future.

Oh my Goooosh !!! Why don't you buy a new soap for yourself ?

Buy your own, do your laundry, and when your skin stops itching and is back to normal maybe your mother will see you aren't crazy and will decide to switch the family detergent to what you chose. If not, at least you know you can keep doing your own laundry and won't itch.

Do your own laundry with your own detergent. It's a hint to become independant and move out...

If you are under 18, rat your mom out to Child Protective Services. She'll certainly relinquish her cheap laundry detergent when the house is swarmed by the SWAT team. If you are 18 or over, get off your lazy ass and do your own laundry in whatever overpriced soap your pea-brain reckons is hypoallergenic.

Ya that's dumb! It's meant to protect kids that can't protect themselves. OP can mend this situation .
