This wasn't an accident. The kid did it on purpose. However, since he WAS well behaved prior to that incident, I think a "talking to", explaining why the behavior is inappropriate, would be better than physical discipline.

Nope! He ripped the tweeds down before I even had a chance to get up and get to the other side of the table. He definitely knows the difference between right and wrong, and was spoken to VERY sternly when back in the car. Of course, the talking to May have been more successful if my 81 year old grandmother wasn't laughing so hard.

That's the spirit. Tell the story to his first girlfriend. That will be a sweet revenge for you in a way. Although I feel your son may again moon in front of her if you tell the story, cause your son has awesome sense of humor. :)

Sorry but I'd have been laughing at that too if that was my grandson. Totally inappropriate and he should be punished, but gosh darn it if kids don't do the stupidest things.

My friend's mother would be absolutely mortified. I can just hear her now. with my mother it's 50-50 as to how she'd react.
