Not everyone learns everything at a certain age. Some Navy guys don't even know how to swim until they get to boot camp.
#30--um..it's a fear. You might think it's irrational, but that's what a phobia is. It's not someone's fault if they have a phobia. I agree with a lot of people on here that say if the OP's mom was that afraid of drowning, she'd have him/her take lessons when they were little. But I hit YDI because if you sign up for beginner swim lessons at a public pool or something, then you should probably assume that it's going to be full of little kids. Go take an adult swim class. Or even just have a friend/relative teach you.
well aparently the 5 year olde are much more accomplished in then you. if you are in high school (which I highly doubt) I guarentee those classmates of yours could put together a synopsis better then you. and honestly, your mom is a ******* moron for worrying about you drowning now. so obviously she is where you got your brains from, or lack thereof. grow up and don't be scared of something so ridiculous. bwig afraid of the ocean is one thing, but the water is another story. and if you're really scared of the water, then how do out shower?

You're in high school and you write like a 4th grader. I think your mom should spend that swimming money on a tutor instead.
you could have said "swimming" a few more times you know
