Today, I got married. My husband and I just wanted to spend a romantic evening together to celebrate. He came down with a nasty bug and slept for 16 hours straight. I spent my wedding day drinking and crying alone. I feel guilty for being so upset, but can never get this day back. FML

You may not have gotten to consummate your marriage right away, but you can't account for everything. If he was well during the ceremony, focus on that. After all, being married is what matters, isn't it? I do have to question why you spent the whole day crying and drinking, though. He was ill. It's not like he divorced you, or cheated on you. Make the most of the future you have together, and remember your wedding before your husband got down with the sickness. Oh, and if you're planning on having kids, or more kids, moderate your drinking. Not a good idea to reach for the rosé every time your plans don't work out the way you wanted.

to be fair that's a huge day. I don't blame her for being upset and she acknowledged her feelings being unreasonable. she wanted a picture perfect wedding day dude lol not like she's genuinely angry at her partner for something he can't control

That really sucks OP. I hope you can make a special day when he gets better and have a really amazing time. You guys had the ceremony and you are married! that is amazing! But you are definitely allowed to feel sad for this. be good to yourself and him

If it can make you feel better, i spent my wedding night at the vet as my cat came home injured when we returned home after dinner. In a few years it’ll just be a funny anecdote, trust me!

The divorce rate is pretty high so you probably will 👍🏻

The wedding is one day. The marriage is forever.

Y'all can always make it up for that day, though.

You cried all ******* day because your husband was sick and you didn’t get what you wanted? You don’t sound mature enough to be married. Get over yourself.

More than likely considering this is the 21st century you probably consummated that relationship multiple times, so quit your whinning you just made vows that say in sickness and in health. I’m pretty sure he’d of rather been doing the other than being sick. 🙄

you got married for the wedding, didn't you??

And what, pray tell (pun intended), is that supposed to achieve?
