I think you would HAVE to have a big enough power supply, to even have that many connectors for each card. Also, underpowering a card shouldn't fry it, anyway. Might fry the power supply at most.

RMA,use those warranties, if you haven't registered the warranties , register them now then do the return.It sounds like you were either building a bitcoin rig, display wall or something with a F@cktonne of screens. I’m curious, what did you need to spend $25000 on? $2-3k is good for most gaming rigs.

I'm surprised how many people are saying their life sucks because from my perspective, this reads as a person who didn't plan their resourcing very well and was over-reaching their capabilities or experimenting. I can't imagine putting all 8 in the rig at one time if they were prohibitively expensive without registering warranties and testing them individually. In all actuality, only one could be problematic but could have destroyed the rest because of the malfunction.

Unless the power supply was faulty and frying them, I can't envision a way that a video card in one slot could somehow harm a video card in a different slot.

Never cheap out on your power supply, and always have proper ventilation. Blowing up that many GPUs means you did something catastrophically wrong.
