I’m so sorry, that must have been so hard to do. Hopefully you have a little bit of solace knowing you’ve done the right thing for your furry one. Reach out to any resource you can to try and get back into housing (churches, shelter resources, animal advocacy groups -which can sometimes help with cost of pet food and other costs, etc) and maybe you’ll be able to get your pal back and back to some semblance of normalcy.
OP Here - I was able to get a housing voucher for an apartment and got my buddy back! I am over the moon, thank you everyone for your support and advice!
that is the best news I have heard in a long time! being poor is one thing, but losing your buddy is worse.
I'm so sorry!!! But I just read your update that you were able to get your dog back and you got an apartment. That's wonderful news! I hope things continue to get better for you!
