Best friend?
honestly that'd be my response too. I applaud his cleverness.
Yikes, it might be time to reevaluate your friendship.
@#2 Right? Who does that? For the next few days every time he comes to you with something important... just pull out your phone and casually respond with "technically,______." Sorry about your grandmother OP.
@#19 More people than I think we care to admit. People are horrible sometimes.
Many people can't deal with serious situations in a subtle manner. No need to ditch them as a friend just because they can't handle a tense conversation.
He's not wrong, but I am sorry for your situation.
Well, I mean, technically he's right. But if he were being considerate, he wouldn't have pointed it out. Sorry about your grandmother, OP. :
Wow.. What an asshole. You need a new best friend OP.
Yeah but technicalities don't excuse asshole-ish behavior...
Everybody is dying. But your "best friend" may die suddenly and sooner. Am I right?
my bad
They should not be considered your best friend. A best friend is someone who actually cares, or in my case was more like a sister than a friend. I would be careful around this one if I were you.

Technically he's right, but it's still rude for him to say that.
