Today, I learned why my bathroom has a horrible, seemingly irremovable stench. My cat doesn't squat to pee like a normal cat. She stands up, peeing over the side of the litter tray all over the wall and floor, which are now a permanent yellow tinge. FML

Today, my cat decided the perfect place to throw up was on herself. Cleaning a smelly old cat with a showerhead is trouble enough, but when she tried to escape, it resulted in the bathroom being turned into one big puddle. FML

Today, my mom read online you could train cats to relieve themselves in the toilet. Without reading any further, she took away the litter tray. My house reeks of cat piss and shit, and she still refuses to give the cat its litter tray back, insisting it'll work eventually. FML

Today, I discovered my cat is bathroom shy when I accidentally walked in on him relieving himself. He jumped about 3 feet in the air and bolted out, launching feces and pee all over the bathroom, hallway, and my shoes. FML

Today, I woke up to go pee and my cat followed me into the bathroom as usual. Then, in a not so usual fashion, she tried to jump from the sink to the top of the toilet, missed, and fell into the bowl while I was peeing. I'm scratched in a bad place, I have urine to clean up off the bathroom floor, and a traumatized cat. FML

Today, my cat is extremely sick and has trouble grooming himself. As evidenced by his butt. He laid on me for a while and it wasn't until a few minutes after he got off that I realized he had stained my pants. That also explains why my chair suddenly looks so nasty, and why my room smells horrible. FML

Today, my cat was in the bathroom with me because he loves toilets. Everyone was sleeping so I went pee but didnt flush. My cat jumped onto the seat and fell in. I had to lift him out and then wash him. He hates water though, so I was scratched by my cat who was dripping with my own pee. FML

Yah, that's called spraying. Is your cat fixed? If not, this could be why. Also, this could be a sign of a medical issue such as a Urinary Tract Infection. You need to get your cat fixed if it isn't, and see a vet.

First, your cat may be a boy, they tend to do this more often. Second, get it fixed if it's not. Third, have the vet run a profile for a urinary tract infection. Fourth, get a litter box with a hood on it. Fifth, wash the walls. Try Greased Lightning, I know it works well on dog pee-you can get it cheaply at dollar stores. Sixth, don't just paint over it...it will still stink.

It is called elevator butt (seriously). There are litter boxes that open at the top instead for that specific reason. That way they have to jump in to pee and when it sprays up it doesn't get anywhere but in the box.
