Today, while serving two middle-aged women at the coffee shop, I was screamed at and accused of being a "sexist and chauvinistic bastard." This was prompted by me charging one of them 40 cents for the addition of steamed milk, which is clearly stated on the price sheet. FML

Today, after already having a terrible day, I went to Starbucks for an espresso. Being nice, I put the last dollar I had in my wallet in their tip jar. While paying for my drink, my card was denied for insufficient funds. The world hates me. FML

Today, I was in Starbucks with my daughter when she noticed a travel cup she liked. She picked one up and asked for it, but I said no because it was expensive. She angrily slammed it back into its stand and in the process, knocked over a display of ceramic mugs. I had to pay for each broken mug. FML

Today, I was late for work and got chewed out by my boss. To console myself I decided to drink a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. My work provides this for free. When I did, my boss told me that in fact it wasn't, nor has it ever been, free; all this time I've been stealing other people's coffee. FML

Today, I realised just how caffeine dependent I am. I didn't have time for my morning coffee, work is out of milk, and I only have $1.30 in my bank account, so I couldn't buy a coffee. Today has been a struggle. FML

Today, a guy came into the small coffee shop I work at, and got angry because I wouldn't accept his Starbucks gift card as valid payment. When I told him we clearly aren't a Starbucks, he said "It's all the same shit" and ended up throwing a punch at me. FML

I started cursing at them and told them that I am in a really big hurry, and that I need coffee every day. They had been yelling back the whole time. Very similar to my experience delivering pizzas during college. I delivered a pizza to a dorm room on the day the freshmen arrived. The first question I got was, "Can you make change for a $100 bill? None of us have anything smaller." I said that, no, we were not allowed to carry around that much cash. So they scraped together the money between them to pay for the pizza. Then one said, "Are we supposed to tip you?" I say, well, it is considered courteous to tip. She replied, "But you know that we're just starving college students who can't afford to tip you, right? Thanks. Bye," then shut the door.

Been there. I delivered pizza too. It's one of those things if you budget for a delivery you budget to tip, or go pick it up yourself. You pay for the convenience. I got asked a lot/told the delivery charge was my tip right? But nope not really. Ugh people.
